What Is a Vegan and What Do Vegans Eat for dinner?

Veganism has been receiving more attention lately but what is veganism? Being vegan is getting more Hearty healthy nutrients from plant foods like whole grains, fruit, nuts, seeds, and vegetables, which are packed with full of beneficial protein, fiber, Carbs, Fats, vitamins and minerals. Foods Vegan avoid include Meat, Chicken, Fish, Shellfish, Eggs, Dairy and Honey. So what do they eat? Here are the Hearty Vegan Dinners with minimalist ingredients:

1) Vegan Mac & Cheese Recipe

This 3 ingredient Vegan mac and cheese is just amazing and loved by kids.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of macaroni noodles or noodle of choice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Procedure:

  • Cook Macaroni as per package instructions.
  • In a large bowl, mix together yeast and olive oil now slowly mix in some of the boiling macaroni water, a tablespoon at a time. Add water according to the consistency of the sauce that you want.
  • Once the Macaronis are cooked through drain the water and nicely toss it with the sauce and serve.

 2) Vegan Banana Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Vegan milk
  • 1 cup of Oats flour
  • 1 ripe banana
  • oil spray for cooking

Procedure:

  • Put everything together in a blender and until its smooth.
  • Let it sit for about 10 minutes to get those fluffy pancakes
  • Heat the nonstick pan on a medium flame and spray it with oil and pour a ladle of the batter and Cook the pancake and when you see the bubbles on your side up, now flip and cook through.
  • Serve the pancakes with your favorite jam, peanut butter or maple syrup.

3) Vegan Butternut Squash Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 butternut squash peeled and cubed
  • 1 big onion
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Procedure:

  • Peel and cut the butternut squash into 1-inch size cubes.
  • Roughly chop onion and garlic cloves as we have to blend everything in the end anyway.
  • Heat the big pot on a medium flame and put oil and once oil is hot add garlic and onions and cook until they get nice golden color.
  • Add some salt and pepper to your taste and add the squash and mix well.
  • Add water till it covers the squash completely (not too much) cover and cooks for about 15-20 minutes till the squash is fork tender.
  • Once it is fully cooked use the blender or electric mixer to blend everything smooth and your soup is ready.
  • Serve hot.

4) Sweet Potato Galette Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs Sweet potatoes  in ⅛ inch rounds
  • ¼ cup of olive oil
  • 1-2 tablespoons of chopped mixed herbs of your choice
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Procedure:

  • Slice sweet potatoes in ⅛ inch rounds and rinse with water and then pat dry to remove excess moisture. Sprinkle with salt and pepper meanwhile preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Coat 9-10 inch round skillet thoroughly with a bit of olive oil and start layering the sweet potatoes. In between each layer, brush olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  • Bake it for around 45-55 minutes depending upon the oven. The top should be golden brown and crisp whereas the sweet potatoes should be soft from the inside.
  • Serve Hot.

5) Vegan Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puffed pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons vegan melted butter
  • 1/4 cup Vegan sugar
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Procedure:

  • Preheat the oven at 400°F. Prepare a 9-10 inch round pan and brush it lightly with melted butter.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix together until uniformly mixed.
  • Line the kitchen counter with butter paper and spread both the puff pastry sheets. Brush it all over with the melted butter and evenly sprinkle the chocolate, sugar mixture onto the sheets.
  •  Roll the sheets tightly and make a log and keep it in the freezer for around 15 minutes.
  • Slice the log into equal rolls about an inch thick, place the rolls onto the baking pan we prepared earlier, and keep some space between the rolls as they will expand.
  • Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 20 minutes before serving.
